Tips to Sell Avon Living…The Get Organized Issue

  • Demo your favorite products–buy the products that you plan to use yourself and share them with customers. Demos sell. Don’t spend all of your profits on demos, but if you are truly going to use something yourself, then buy it and share it.
  • Use images to share your favorite products with customers. Take pictures of the demos you do purchase and also use the Avon Living Magalog and online images provided by Avon to share products with your customers and potential customers both in person and online. Take advantage of social media and use the hashtag #AvonLiving along with other relevant hashtags (depending on the product). Share to as many social media outlets as possible.
  • Share the tips that are included in your representative what’s new demo book and in the Avon Living Magalog for customers.
  • Share your own uses for the products.
  • For The Get Organized Issue promote how these products can help with New Year organization and spring cleaning.

Campaign 3 has a whole lot of gift ideas (think Jewelry) as well as the Little Red Dress boutique that is great for Valentine’s Day date night as the boutique includes a full look and the new Little Red Dress fragrance for her. Remind customers we have things for the men on their list as well. Representatives should also check out the Avon Campaign Central information and videos on youravon.com. Campaign 3 Hot Items

  • Sell the full look from the Little Red Dress boutique (the Little Red Dress dress, The Perfect Match Necklace and Earring Set, and the Peekaboo Lace-Up Sandal)

Campaign 4 Hot Items

  • Nutraeffects skin care line–this line replaces Avon Elements for your current Avon Elements customers…this line is also dye free and paraben free as well as suitable for sensitive skin and hypoallergenic. Selling Avon Campaigns 1 & 2 2017 Representative Tips

This video was made by Amanda Davis, Avon Ind. Sales Representative New Avon, LLC

I use these tactics to plan my own campaigns. Representatives should look at the Campaign Central videos Avon provides as well. At the end of the video I mention the FAB Buys (this actually ended as of Campaign 26 2016). I give a couple ways to figure out the best buys yourself at the end of the video.

Campaign 1 2017 Selling Tips:

Campaign 1 2017 is over for most of us, but maybe you still have some brochures sitting around or people that you need to follow up with that their last Avon Brochure was Campaign 1 2017.

  • Take Advantage of last minute sales for the holidays!
  • Sell Breast Cancer Crusade awareness products like the $6 charm bracelet featured in the Campaign 1 What’s New (great add-on sale).
  • Sell matching products together like the Mailyn Oversized Tote, Classics Wallet, and Key Fob.
  • Take note of information like the Skin Care Bulletin and share that information with potential skin care customers and can also try to add on to existing skin care customer orders. What’s New pages 6-7
  •  Moisture Therapy big winter product! Campaign 1 has a five piece set for $16.99
  • What’s News are great for sample stock ups if you need to get more samples
  • Take note of discontinued products and suggested replacements. I mention specifics in my video. This list can be found in the What’s New pages 12-13.
  • Take note of representative tips on pages 16-18

Campaign 2 2017 Selling Tips:

  • Ultimate Utility Tote on the cover is $19.99 with any $15 purchase from the brochure (another great add-on sale)
  • Make note of new products and things your customers might like.
  • New jewelry that can be a great add-on sale
  • Vitamin C serum will be on sale for $19.99
  • Point out the 3-piece sets for Avon Senses that are in the brochure for $9.99
  • New Mark Magalog and products–capitalize on Winter Fashion trends
  • Special Representative Offers for products that can be used for demos, inventory, etc.
  • $8.99 Sample Pack offer
  • More discontinued items (I go into detail in the video) What’s New pages 16-17
  • More Mark items

Are you Holiday Ready?

I originally made this video in October 2015. Here are some pointers for capitalizing on holidays with your direct selling business.

  1. Share the products your company has to offer for the holidays! Most companies have something for all of the major holidays not just the fall/early winter holidays I mentioned in the video.
  2. Think gifts! Who do you know that will need to purchase gifts for these holidays?
  3. Think standing out! How can you make yourself stand out as a consultant? What can you offer your customers? Custom gift baskets? Wrapping? Special delivery?
  4. Share personal stories! What are you getting your own family and loved ones for the holiday? What are you using personally?
  5. Videos and pictures do a great way of sharing these products with potential buyers!
  6. What do you have on hand? Focus on selling these products first because you need to make that money back.
  7. Take advantage of craft fairs and other shows of that type. High seasons for these fairs is the Fall October-December and the Spring around Easter March-May. Yard sales are great for summer months June-September just remember that people expect cost to be lower at yard sales.

Working Your Avon Business While You Are On Vacation

Video Where I explain some tips for working your business while on vacation:

IMG_20150709_161444100_HDR
Summary of Tips for Working Your Avon Business while on Vacation:

  1. Wear Avon! As always sharing Avon is as easy as using the products yourself especially the fashion and accessories since they can be an easy way to open the door to a conversation about Avon when someone compliments you on something you are wearing.
  2. Leave a brochure trail…The picture to the right of these tips shows you what I did last summer with some old brochures that I left in rest stops on the way to my beach trip. The bag is one of the Avon Clear Literature Bags which is available to order from your Avon Representative site under Sales Tools.
  3. Prospect while on vacation. If you have the time, then why not prospect for customers and team members while on vacation? You can point potential customers and team members to your Avon Representative eStore site for orders or to sign-up.
  4. Take Advantage of the Internet and Social media. If you have internet connection, you can work your business online while on vacation. Avon has the wonderful Social Media Center with posts already ready to go and you can easily share these posts from your Mobile device.

Thanks for reading! I hope you found these tips useful!

Tip Tuesday: Samples Sell

Take note. Samples Sell. People LOVE to try before they buy! Especially with cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, home fragrance, and food products people want to know that they will like the product. Something that sets direct sales consultants apart from other companies and even sometimes representatives apart from other representatives is samples. When people can try before they buy they are more likely to like the product and buy it. If you aren’t doing it with samples, then do it with demonstration products. If you are on the fence about investing in samples and demos then hopefully this video and short post will convince you otherwise. Thanks for watching/reading!

Tip Tuesday: The Power of Follow-Up

In direct sales it is important to follow-up with your leads. Leads can be potential customers or potential business partners. It is important to find a way you can follow-up with these leads and stay in touch so that they come to you should they ever change their mind. There is a difference in following up and pestering the person or following up and spamming the person. One way you can follow-up is to mail brochures to your customer list. Most customers will not buy every campaign, however if they do not have a brochure then they are less likely to buy from you. In Avon, we have new brochures every two weeks. You will have customers that buy every month, every few months, and some that only buy once or twice a year, but bottom line they can’t order from you if they don’t have  a brochure with your information. Customers like to see what items we have to offer at certain times of the year and new items are constantly coming out for our customers to purchase. Not everyone wants to look online, so mailing brochures can be a good way to gain customers and maintain those that you aren’t seeing on a consistent basis. Of course the phone, text, email, and social media can all be used to follow up as well. It is good practice to follow up and contact your leads list every once in awhile to see if you can do anything for them. There are many other videos and articles out there on the importance of following up and I just wanted to put out there that I do agree that follow up is important no matter how you choose to do it or how often you do it.

Tip Tuesday: Start With Who Do You Know

Build Your Who Do You Know List FROGS:

Make a list of these people whether you think they will be interested or not. You may be surprised by how many names you can come up with. Avon recommends challenging yourself to come up with 50 names to start.

  • Friends
  • Relatives
  • Organizations–clubs, school, work, etc.
  • Geography–Neighbors–places you go (grocery store, bank, post office, etc)
  • Social Media Connections

I bet you if you made a list of your network in all of these points of contact, you’d be surprised how many names you can actually come up with. You can do the list at any point in your business. The key once you’ve made the list is to start contacting people to let them know you are an Avon Rep (or in whatever business you are in). Some will, some won’t, oh well onto the next! Good motto to remember when people tell you they are not interested. Just because they are not interested at first does not mean they will never be interested. Being in business for five years I have come to realize this a few different times.

Using the What’s New for Sales Tips

AVON Campaign 5 What's New 2015Did you know you can use the What’s New Book for Sales Tips? Think of the What’s New Demo Book as a magazine for representatives. Not only will it show you all of the upcoming products and give you a chance to order them ahead of the customer brochure, but it also has sales tips, recipes, and other information that you might find useful. This blog post and the video I made to accompany it focus on how you can take advantage of the sales tips in the What’s New. For Campaign 5 the main product was the Winged Out Mascara so most of the tips focused on selling makeup and mascara. One awesome one with the mascara is a trade in program where you offer a discount to your customers that trade in their old mascara to get the new one or a new one depending on when you run the special. Or maybe you run the special all the time and try to remind customers every three months to replace their mascara or with the seasons or something along those lines. There is also mention of how customers or yourself can use the Virtual Makeover tool that is on our eStore websites that customers can shop. Upload a photo of yourself or have the customer upload a photo of herself and then play around with the makeup palette to create a look and then order the makeup straight from the tool. And of course there is tips on the Social Media center which is becoming more and more of a focus for representatives to take advantage of Social Media and the center that Avon offers for you. In the video I also mention how you can use the Did you Know facts that are posted to your advantage and I show you the Sterling Silver pouch that comes with most of our Sterling Silver products. I also mention the Get the Look that was in this What’s New for some of the Mark. Products. Overall, look through every What’s New to see what tips are available to you and many of them can be used in your Avon business on a daily basis when growing customers and leadership. Below is my video on the topic:
